Musicians, Poets and other Wild Life

Based in Cheshire, Philippa Jane Ellis is a self-taught artist working in acrylic, charcoal and pastel. Her work brings together musicians, poetic themes, animals and the natural world - subjects connected by a shared spirit and energy.

 

She paints musicians for their wild creative force, poetic themes that explore the complex nature of life, animals for their grace and quiet majesty, and landscapes because we are all part of the same living story. Working instinctively in layers of colour and texture, she seeks to capture presence, emotion and the essence of her subjects: a celebration of spirit, human, animal and untamed.
